Stephen Shore gives his views on integrating with amateurism with artistic traditions, given that this was more likely to produce more distinct forms of photography. Away from pop and conceptual art, Shore advocates this approach that would distinguish photography in a manner that was consistent with art photography that was unmediated (Gil & Shore, 2007). Shore also seems to suggest that the spontaneity of photographic experiences does not make the art any less appealing than simply relying on the work of professional photographers. Nonetheless, the element of casualness in framing some of Shore’s photography does not diminish the quality of snapshots as part of art photography.
