Jean Jacques Rousseau has been identified as one of the people who had significant impacts on philosophy on political and moral philosophy. One of the primary thoughts of Jean Jacques Rousseau about human beings is that they are usually good by nature, but they tend to be corrupted by society (Zalta, n.p). He also argues that, like other creatures, human beings seek to achieve self-preservation and are therefore driven by a concept known as amour de soi (self-love) (Zalta, n.p). According to Rousseau, self-love is the factor that drives human beings to first attending to their basic needs, such as food, shelter, and warmth. As a result, human beings are components of a benevolent creator and are usually equipped to satisfy their natural needs.
