At the first quarter, the first image that clicked in the mind regarding the Chinese body was;
The end of revolution of China and Japan: this was represented by a ceremony conducted on 10.1. 1949. The event brought thousands of Chinese around the Tiananmen Square to celebrate the new born nation. The birth of new China was led by Chairman Mao standing in front of Tiananmen gate tower and his portrait hanging high above the gate. The event was culminated by rising of a five red Chinese flag was amidst the national anthem sang to indicate the new Chinese country. This event was the beginning of a new China which was conducted in ceremoniously with an open speech from Chairman Mao which symbolized the history of the nation and a movement that is a concept and a theory in the development of China as a nation.
Contrarily to the initial notion about the about Chinese birth, it can now be understood China has undergone a change in culture. The examples of such changes are as follows;
Modernization of the culture: The women today display their body with change dress codes. On the same note, the normative masculinity has been reborn to cultures of homosexuality and same-sex relationship. This has made men vulnerable and dangerous due to their changed sexual orientations.
New gymnastic martial art techniques: such as Taiji Quan, Xingyi Quan, and Shaolin Quan for both religious and health reasons coupled with violence which initially were rejected by the Buddhists. This has also given a link Chinese medication, martial art, and religion.
Change of bureaucracy to bio-political: this change currently embraces self-cultivation, sovereignty and pleasure. People implement yang sheng culture represented by the healthy living and nutrition practice amidst technological advancement on physical activities, and transformation of attitude to ensure improved health.

The favorite essay among the three is “The Vitality of the Human Body in Chinese Culture". This essay presents an argument of the deception in the modern society about Chinese traditions concerning the connection of body, religion, and culture that is perceived by the western nations as weak. The essay is based on a film by Jet Li, a Kung Fu master who fought Japanese master and was drugged in the process. At the point of his death, he never yielded to the corrupt westernized society. The film elaborates the Chinese tradition that symbolizes body as a battlefield of demons and ghosts which inflict the body with illness in the process of fighting. Therefore, the body is considered to have both spiritual and mental functions interconnected with the physical aspect, a notion that contradicts the westernized beliefs. Furthermore, the Chinese martial art master in the film (Jet Li) symbolized China which is perceived to be weak due to constant aggression by the foreign nations such as Japan and Britain. Therefore, the nation had to be redeemed from such oppressions regardless of the impacts. Henceforth, the body must remain stronger against the forces of politics and religion that view the martial arts as superstitions and tricks as opposed to the military sports...
