* What is the importance of the Passover in Christianity as compared to Judaism, and how does the concept of sacrifice explain the difference between the two religions?
In Christianity, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are central to understanding his importance and place. Jesus was executed during the Jewish Passover cycle, and the ritual of Passover is one way to remember him (118). The early disciples adopted the ritual from Judaism. In Judaism and the Old Testament, the feast of the Exodus (12: 1-28) celebrates redemption from slavery.
