Social media activism (also known as online activism, web activism and internet activism) emerged in the 1990s in different parts of the world. It consists of mass emails, e-bulletin board campaigns, and hashtags, etc. It is safe to mention that social media activism helps people get their responses recorded. On Twitter, people use hashtags while speaking of their minds. They remain active on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking websites when it comes to responding to a political or social issue. The majority of people do not care about what others say or think about them on social media; what matters to them is that their voices are heard, and their opinions are read.
