Chimneys , flues and fireplaces

* Chimneys are huge and were very much needed back then, does accommodate tons of spaces in this house
* Replace the chimney with electronic heaters
* According to CITATION Jet \l 1033 (Jetmaster, n.d.), a 600 mm clearance is needed from the house rooftop to the chimney, and it should have a 1 m minimum advantage of the neighborhood’s rooftop within 3 meters.
* Flue height should be 3.6 meters height from the floor fireplace is installed.

Roof structure and finish

* Roof structures must be weak because it is made out of wood.
* The material used for the roofing can be replaced with asphalt roofing.
* The roof must be overlapped 1.5 corrugations for better water protection CITATION Met \l 1033 (Metal Roofing Online, n.d.)
* Standard roof pitches in Australia are usually either 15 degrees or 22.5 degrees CITATION And \l 1033 (Mackintosh, n.d.)

Fascias, soffits and rainwater goods

* The soffits and fascia must be covered with rust and not able to do their original job.
* It should be replaced with new industrial-made facias and soffits.
* Allow roof sheets to overlap into gutters by about 50 mm CITATION Met \l 1033 (Metal Roofing Online, n.d.).

Solid brick walls and/or external render

* The brick wall should be fine because it can withstand the outside environment for a long time.
* The external face of the building may be gone because of the natural elements.
* Grey and white is the best way to finish the building.
* Outer walls must be at least 0.20 meters thick, and inner walls should be 0.15 meters thick.

Structural floors – ground and first floors

* Floors can be covered with carpet or just ceramic tiles.
* I bet the carpet on the floors is torn apart due to long years of usage.<...
