Every day, leaders encounter situations requiring mental toughness, psychological hardiness, and resilience. Conventionally, followers perceive their leaders as their role models and are always inclined to emulate them in many aspects. Therefore, any leader who aspires to have resilient followers must lead by example. As a leader, one way that I would use to build resilience is by having a profound acceptance of reality. By this, I mean embracing a great sense of reality that borders pessimism. In addition, I would adopt an unshakeable belief that life is meaningful. I would also have to cultivate an incredible ability to improvise. I would also encourage and assist my followers in embracing similar attributes. In addition, I would provide them with psychological first aid to help them respond to disasters. This would immensely depend on my actions and interactions with them.
