In his essay, Moore argues that nature and labor are inseparable. Despite the evolution of the nature of work from time to time, human beings will always have to work. Moore also argues that, in this era of civilization where capitalism is dominant, work that adds value is the only one that matters. This is evident by the recurrent reference to the law of value in the Marxist narrative. However, Moore concluded that the foundation of capitalism and paid labor are unpaid work, gender, and race.
