After reading pages 151 to 153, one of the roadblocks I face that makes it difficult to get through my reading is remembering the main idea from what I read. I often find myself forgetting the most important things I read from a book or even how many hours I spent reading. Some of the strategies I can use to overcome the roadblock, in addition to creating a reading plan, include writing informal discovery statements, writing short intention statements, using the Feynman technique, and copying the passages I want to remember. Writing informal discovery statements after reading an article or book chapter can help with future reference (Obiezue, 2020). A paragraph summarizing the most important, useful, or memorable facts can help me remember what I read years ago. Moreover, writing short intention statements to plan my reading can result in significant improvements in my ability to remember what I read.
