1(a) How do we relate to symbols on a daily basis? Give examples of symbols you work/live with every day.
1(b) If you were to see the American flag being burned or hampered with, how would that make you feel? If you saw a flag of a different country (one you have no emotional attachments to) how would that make you feel? Why do you think there is a strong emotional difference between seeing a U.S. flag burning and a flag of a different country burning?

Social change has sped up immensely within the past 20-30 years. How has the older generations within your family (or even you) coped with the fast pace world we live in? Have they (or you) been able to keep up or do they (or you) yearn for a simpler time? Explain.
How does globalization affect you on a daily basis? What parts of society are affected more by globalization? Where do you see globalization heading in the next 5-10 years
2(a) Research a product of your choice. Write a brief description of how and where the product is made. What countries supply goods to the product? Where is it made and sold? How much does it all cost?
2(b) Research menus from McDonald’s around the world. What do you find from those menus that you might not find in the United States? Why do you think these items are listed at these particular McDonald’s locations?
