In the modern world, video games have become a critical part of social life. Video games have transformed how individuals spend their free time. Most of the individuals have played games at least once. Games have become attractions in most parties and get-togethers. The gaming industry has gained recognition as being a multi-million dollar industry. As more individuals play video games, questions have arisen regarding if video games can positively influence the brain. In this article, the researchers investigate the relationship that exists between video games and fluid intelligence. I believe such a study is critical, considering that I am a big player in video games. While games are looked at from the narrow lenses of pleasure, there is more to consider regarding the intellectual aspect.
One of my favorite games is Overwatch. The game entails an online battle where players work in teams to attain particular goals like capturing a waypoint. The game requires that the players work together as a team. Hence, for the players to succeed, they must maintain a high level of teamwork. Sometimes, playing such a game can appear as a waste of time especially for game critics. Some individuals view playing games as having adverse effects, especially to intelligence. Despite this notion, an examination of multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBAs) and first-person shooter games (FPSs) shows that games are indeed beneficial.
