Every religion has a cosmology/cosmogony to explain its view of the universe and the place of humans in it. Explain the cosmology/cosmogony for this week’s religion. Explain how it is manifested in the subsequent worldview that develops for that religion.

Sikhism is based on oneness of creation. That Waheguru (God) made the whole universe and all forms of life. Before creation there was nothing that existed, then Waheguru decided to make the universe and othere creations in it. Waheguru made all creation using words, be and it was, and He is the sustainer of all of His creations.

NATURE OF GOD/CREATOR

In what way does this religion have a God or gods? How does this worship of deity/deities reflect the cosmology of the religion? If the religion has no God/gods, in what way does this absence reflect their cosmology?

Sikhism insist on oneness of God (Waheguru). Waheguru has no form since he doesn’t have physical attributes and He created Himself. Waheguru is considered to be full of love and compassion towards his creation and He is beyond human hate and anger. Sikhism believe in worship of Waheguru through continual remembrance of Waheguru, selfless service and humility. In this religion God is considered to have various names in various spiritual traditions.
