The above line-graph shows the respective number of television sets and refrigerators that would fit in an eighteen wheeler truck. If the truck is loaded only with television sets, it can carry up to 330 units. On the other hand, if the truck is loaded with refrigerators only, it can carry up to 110 units. The light blue shaded area under the solid line curve shows the possible set combinations of television sets and refrigerators that a truck can carry.
This shaded region can be expressed in form of a linear inequality equation. This is done through mathematical calculations. First is to obtain the gradient of the straight line. This is the slope of the line graph which is described as the change in the y-axis divided by the change in the x-axis.
