Supply Chain Management Certification
Introduction
Supply chain management is concerned with the business activities involved in the obtaining, preparation, and transformation of raw materials into finished goods. It also deals with the transportation of these finished products to their end-users (the business's customers). Supply chain management can be described as the management of the two-way relationships between suppliers and customers to provide superior value to customers at the least cost possible to the supply chain (Christopher, 2016). Logistics, on the other hand, refers to the physical and strategical infrastructure put in place by a business to facilitate the supply chain and its management. Proper management of logistics and the supply chain can afford a business a significant competitive advantage in the market. This essay will serve as a detailed professional development plan and aim to give an idea of the professional significance of a Master's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
The Professional Development Plan
According to Indeed (2019), there are five parts to any professional development plan. These are self-assessment, goals, strategies, resources, and a timeline. Each of which will be explored below.
           Self-Assessment
I am currently a Master’s Degree student pursuing Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM). I currently have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
           Goals
Undertake further study upon completion of the Master’s Degree and acquire certifications. These certifications are the APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) Certified Supply Chain Professional certification (CSCP), the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management certification (CPIM), and the APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) certification. I also intend to acquire a job afterward and kick-start my professional career.
