Organizational Problem
Job roles design is at the very core of efficiency at any place of work. It is important that each and every other employee is assigned responsibilities that are clear cut. This is to avoid roles that are conflicting with other employees in their level. At the same time, it allows for professional distribution of roles where the staff are not overworked (Smith, 2011). Job role designs should at all times reduce or completely eliminate ambiguity among nurses to ensure a smooth running of processes at each and every level of the organization.
Contextual Basis
Nurses are part of the pivotal system in a health care system. They play a vital role in supporting the health care practitioners such as physicians in carrying out their duties (Tunc & Kutanis, 2009). There are different level of nursing and there is need for the organization to design roles that fit in with the qualification and more importantly the field of profession to avoid colliding roles and duplicating responsibilities.
Organizational Challenges
Where there are colliding roles, there are chances that there is going to be an element of conflict between the nurses. This is relative to roles redundancy as nurses find themselves working on the same role. Other than redundancy and conflict, nurses are bound to experience burnout (Dasgupta, 2012). This is associated with elements such as having more roles than the nurse can handle, where the roles are not evenly distributed. If the nurses are not overworked, they are constantly struggling with poor communication.
