Effective leadership entails the interactions between followers and leaders. Being a leader or a follower involves different dynamic roles in the different levels of the organization’s functions. Therefore, the intricate nature of the relationship between Elon Musk leadership and his followers exhibited outstanding qualities. The rapid changes in the business environment are causing dislocations that impact organizations and present fresh opportunities and threats to leadership. Elon Musk has exhibited outstanding leadership qualities in the face of organizational changes. He has the ability to confront issues and does not fear to face obstacles that other leaders may perceive as impossible to overcome.
One of the major qualities that Elem Musk displayed was a strong vision and guiding organizations through tough challenges. He is known for his outstanding ability to face challenges and address them head on. All the projects that he has worked on tackle major global sectors, which include automotive, telecommunications, and energy. He always has hands-on approach to tackling challenges and ensuring that issues are addressed amicably and without hesitation. Elem Musk believes that practical solutions can be found through a hands-on approach to tasks. He always shifts to where the biggest challenge is, and ensures that issues are addressed amicably and effectively (Lussier & Achua, 2015).
Consensus Building and Negotiation
Elem Musk is a transformational leader who is focused on addressing issues within the organizational system. The changes center on changing the human behavior, especially for people involved in the identified system. He is able to mobilize for behavioral change within an institution, ensuring that all people are focused on what matters most during the change process. As a leader, he is able to explain to subordinates the main reason for change, and explain what are the main triggers in the internal environment of the organization. There is also need to the main threats and make followers understand why these issues need to be addressed for the organization to operate effectively (Kotter, 2012).
Every effective leader must be ready to fail. Elem Musk has the ability to evaluate issues and develop solutions. However, in every change process, there is high potential of opting for solutions that can fail. He is known for his famous ethos: failure is an option here. If things are not failing you are not innovating. He has the ability to re-evaluate his strategies and adapt them to the prevailing situations requiring change. When a leader implements changes abruptly within an organization, the workers can be disoriented because they are used to do things in a particular way. However, this approach can be rewarding because it offers new perspective to the employees. Elon Musk is a great communicator who is able to mobilize for changes and ensure that all stakeholders play a part in the organizational hierarchy, particularly during change implementation.
