Shipping is a significant activity in the history of humanity, where development has strongly depended on the interregional business. The research paper articulates the role of transportation, which is one of the significant pillars of globalization. The other components of globalization are international standardization, trade liberalization, and communication. With the increase in technological, economic, and socio-cultural changes, it is tough to find nations that have protected themselves from other nations' commercial activities. Through the opening up of borders, there has been an increased flow of goods and knowledge. Additionally, globalization is known to cause both negative and positive effects on international stability, the environment, and sustainable development (Levinson, 2006). In the research paper, the impact of globalization on ocean transport is discussed. The paper focuses on how the maritime industry has transformed its technologies over the years in order to meet the rising demands in a globalized economy.
