In Sonnet on Love Xlll-Jean De Sponde , the metaphor is fine fixed point indicating love. While in the poem Dreams, the poet likens life to a broken-winged birds that cannot fly indicating the challenges of life.
Simile:
The poem ‘All watched Over By Machine Of Loving Grace uses similes ‘to link , including the line that mammals and computers live together in harmony in mutual programming harmony like pure water touching clear sky.’ Another simile in the poem is the line as ‘if they were flowers with spinning blossoms.
Personification:
In the poems Dreams, the first line states ‘Hold fast to dream’ urging people to have hope that their dreams will come true. While in the poem ‘All watched Over By Machine Of Loving Grace, the deer stroll peacefully.
Imagery:
The poem Dreams uses the imagery of the broken-winged bird and a barren field to symbolize life. Another form of imagery is cybernetic ecology to show the integration of the computer world with nature. Sensory Language:
