Describe the how the Bachelor of General Studies program has helped you to achieve these Learning Objectives, and how these objectives have helped you to be more successful academically at Georgia Southern University.
The essence of pursuing further education isn’t just dependent on the acquisition of the academic certificates. Rather, it is to obtain further intellectual growth and accomplishment. The Bachelor of General Studies has enabled me to achieve a combo of learning objectives which would otherwise never have been achieved. I have been able to master the art of effective communication through the synchrony of the visual and mental, as well as proper diction. This has enabled me to flexibly use English to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, for a variety of purposes. Having a way with language is one of the most exciting aspects of communication that a student, or even a professional, can ever wish for.
Perhaps the most valuable of all the benefits obtained from pursuit of the program has been the ability to think critically. Critical thinking skills constitute an important aspect of the learning process, as they enable an individual to analyze a given piece of situation, source or issue, in a number of ways. I have been able to look at concepts from different perspectives, trying to offer not only the first and second thoughts, but also introducing a third dimension, or opinion to it. Through critical thinking and analysis, theories and principles can be understood in a much better way, while data analysis and interpretation can be more comprehensive and conclusive.
