There 3 beliefs included in the Roman value system and these are practicality, eclecticism, and imperialism. They are all an explanation of what the roman people witnessed around them. They were able to use their worldview and have order in their lives similar to how it is today.
Eclecticism is a term they used for ancient philosophers who attempted to choose doctrines that seemed to be justifiable and then constructed a fresh system from it (Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2002).
