Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, also known as MUVE is a self-financing, private foundation managed by a Board of Directors that administers and regulates public heritage and its activities to sustain and enhance the culture and artistic heritage of the museums. The only founding member of MUVE is the City of Venice. The website of MUVE also has very convenient search options for artworks, photographs, prints, and draws. By visiting the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia website, the viewers are able to see various artworks from the museums, and a virtual tour is also possible with the help of the Street View virtual tour. For every museum, there is a short introduction and a gallery of artworks taken in high-definition resolution for better experience on the web. The virtual tour does not only show the paintings itself, but also the architecture and beauty of the rooms in the museum including the interiors, furniture, and floor layout, as seen in the image below. The virtual museum also involves both entertainment and education, which can be considered as extensions of their classrooms in the comfort of their own homes. In comparison to historical documents and texts, the material objects provide a more realistic view, but both still need to be able to grasp more interpretations and history from the pieces. This is also a great balance in keeping and nourishing the traditional artistic side every person has in this world today consumed by fast-paced living and gadgets. It is still a wonderful and unique experience to be able to physically go to the museums itself, but this is a good option for people worldwide to be able to have their own experience with the artworks presented.
