Congress is the legislative branch of the federal government that is responsible for making the nation’s laws and representing American people the world over. It shares power with the judicial branch and the executive branch, which is led by the president of the country (Yglesias, 2019). Out of the three main branches of government, Congress is the only branch that is directly elected by people. A reform in Congress is definitely needed, as this can help address many of its challenges. For example, Congress has the power to establish certain rules that let foreign-born immigrants get citizenship in the United States. However, it looks like Congress is not properly using this power.
