The Board of Estimate and Taxation is responsible for administrating the financial affairs of the Town. This group consists of people who have knowledge of how to issue the annual recommended budget and how to set the town tax mill rate. Different types of people are attending the meeting as members of the public. For example, there are representatives of new businesses and some are representing old businesses. All of them advocate for the betterment of the public and try to prove their viewpoints using a number of fact-based examples. The Board acts on their requests for extra transfers, allotments, and appropriations made during the fiscal year.
