Although Infant Mortality has decreased significantly In the United States over the past several decades , there are still large numbers of deaths attnbuted to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Sudden Unexpected Infant Death. Those sloop-related infant deaths are often difficult to classify definrtively given the s1m1lar scenarios in which the deaths occur.II is not uncommon that a specific cause of death may not be drscemable even after autopsy.

Currently, significant attention 1s being focused on the link between co-sleeping/co-bedding , where the infant sleeps in the same bed as the parent (s) and SUID or accidental suffocation.

Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) are the leading causes of child mortality in America. About 3,400 infants in America die suddenly and unexpectedly every year (CDC, 2019). Two slogans that relate to SUID and SIDS healthcare campaigns revolving around reducing child mortality among infants less than 1-year-old are “Sleep in Safety, Grow in Style” and “Safe to Sleep”. “Sleep in Safety, Grow in Style” is the campaign slogan used by the CJ Foundation for SIDS to increase awareness among parents of the importance of having infant sleep environments that meet the guidelines provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The campaign is aimed to help parents create safe infinite sleep environments for their babies to reduce the risk of SUID and SIDS.
