Professional Goal (3-5 years) from now:
My goal is to offer nursing services to families in a health care unit and provide teaching services to students in areas such as diseases prevention, health promotions and chronic disease management. Apart from taking care of patients’ wellbeing continually, I aspire to empower and educate people to protect and manage their health. Additionally, I have a goal to help in the elimination of health care inconsistencies through community clinic. Lastly, my near aspiration is to complete Masters in Advanced Nursing for Family Nurse Practioner. My long term goal to pursue a doctorate in FNP to provide better patient care and results as well as equipping myself with knowledge and information to match the dynamism of healthcare in the world today. As an FNP in adult nursing, I will get the opportunity to advance and expand my duties and responsibilities in serving the community by prioritizing the vulnerable and adult populations while improving the quality and safety of health care systems in both a hospital and clinic setting despite the limitation non-utilization of FNP in my hometown hospitals.
Knowledge that prepares a graduate student for an advanced nursing role:
For NP students to prepare for ANP roles, they need to possess prerequisite knowledge in theoretical researches and practical execution in healthcare facilities. Also, students should be well conversant with the Nursing standard and policies of practice and how to apply them efficiently and safely. Lastly, we are expected to adjust professionally and familiarize with the demands emanating from the ever changing healthcare setting as well as contributing to the progression of the Nursing profession and Nursing process in general.
Skills that prepare a graduate student for an advanced nursing role:
In terms of skills, students ought to possess the skills to develop, apply and evaluate nursing plans to boost quality healthcare. In addition, students are required to possess leadership skills to manage nursing policies in healthcare delivery. Also, we are required to possess the ability to put apply theoretical studies into actual nursing practice alongside individuals, families and communities in a health care setting. Also, we are expected to possess the ability to apply nursing skills alongside the acquired nursing knowledge, coaching, education on patients. Lastly, graduates are expected to come in the field with accountability and responsibility

To be qualified, competent and determined to practice advanced nursing roles, one ought to acquire Master Degree and Certification in my Family Nurse Practioner specialization.
