Interviews play an essential in the recruitment process of any organization. The job interview process can be somewhat challenging and lengthy. Most organizations organize interview processes to ensure that they hire the right employees for various positions. The job interview process can be challenging for both the employer and employee. In this regard, employers are required to ensure that they develop an effective interview strategy, which they feel will be essential in them selecting the right candidates for their organization (Barnett, 2008). Over the years, both large corporations like Google, as well as small organizations, have adopted the use of different interview strategies to ensure they hire the best available potential employees in the market. This is paper will discuss the interview process for employees at the surgical intensive care unit at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital to ensure the organizations hire the right people.
An effective interview process entails whereby the employer has specified the time and place where the interview process will take place. In this interview, potential employees will be required to have reached the venue of the interview (Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital) at nine in the morning. This is to give them an appropriate time to familiarize themselves with the surroundings as well as interact with fellow interviewees. The interview will then begin at ten in the morning, and each candidate will be interviewed individually. As stated, the interview will occur at the Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital’s boardroom. It is expected that a morning interview at the organization's boardroom will be much effective as both the candidates and interviewees are fresh and less fatigued as opposed to afternoon interviews. The boardroom is appropriate since it is less prone to noises and activities happening in the facility.
Interviews are conducted based on different formats and interview types. In this interview process, the formats to adopt are competency-based and formal interview formats. In the competency-based format, the organization will require employees to have particular competencies and skills. Each of the jobs has several specifications that candidates are required to read, and they should be ready to answer some of the questions provided (Barnett, 2008). They should also seek to demonstrate to the panelists that they have all/ most of the skills which are included as requirements. On the other hand, the interview process will entail a formal format whereby most of the issues discussed in the interview are job-related. In case of any information questions, their purpose will still be to ensure that candidates are qualified for the job descriptions (Barnett, 2008). Concerning this interview, the process w...
