Background of the Study
The study by Aiken, Sloane, Bruyneel, Heede, and Sermeus (2012) addressed the issue of nurses' working conditions and the quality of care in hospitals in Europe. According to the authors, understanding the factors that lead to lack of satisfaction among nurses can reduce the number of nurses willing to leave their jobs, which can help solve the shortage of nurses and thus improve healthcare quality. Studies such as Aiken et al. (2012) and Kutney-Lee et al. (2009) were used to inform the background of the study.
