Describe how you would teach an elderly patient about new assistive technology.
The new assistive technology and the elderly may not seem to get along, so it becomes the responsibility of a healthcare professional to introduce the elderly to the assistive technology he is going to use to serve them better. The easiest and quickest way to let them know how to use the assistive technology is by sitting with them, using the technology right before their eyes, and encouraging them to try its options themselves. Most often, the elderly dislike the idea of using a new assistive technology given that they are unable to understand its functionality, but if things are clarified to them comprehensively, then they may show interest and cooperate with the health service provider. Assistive technologies aim to track chronic diseases and alert the health expert regarding changes needed for effective home care. They can give the desired results only when the doctor and the patient know how to use them in the best possible ways.
