1 Research Problem and Purpose
What are the problem and purpose of the referenced study? The research aims at assessing the central line bundle on minimizing the problems encountered in the bloodstream in intensive care patients. The problem is consistent in hospitals where nurses who take care of patients in such conditions report failure of systems.
2 Hypotheses and Research Questions
What are the hypotheses (or research questions/objectives) of the study?
The hypothesis is: central line bundle will minimize rate of central line associated blood stream infection
3 Literature Review
What is the quality of the literature review? Is the literature review current? Relevant?
The literature review is comprehensive as it presents the history, the current situations and the differences in methodologies. It has the alternative measures that worked in old days and is relevant in relating the research to the problems and their spread. It has caused health concerns and criticizes the shallow research by ancient experts (Zaiton & Taha, 2014). Most of them did not relate the diagnoses and the less empowerment of nurses. Finally, it integrates the current research into solution provision to curb the major problems.
4 Theoretical or Conceptual Framework
Is a theoretical or conceptual framework identified? If so, what is it? Is it a nursing framework or one drawn from another discipline?)
The conceptual framework is drawn from a nursing filed and advice information to nurses and their empowerment that will equip them with the ability to work well with the method.
5 Population
What population was sampled? How was the population sampled? Describe the method and criteria. How many subjects were in the sample?
Participants of the research were nurses as experts and forty patients in the first group who got direct nursing care as the second group was given the central bundle care to test the differences. The adequate description of the participants was relevant and would work for the project and research. The sampling strategy was appropriate as it would give an equal comparison between the two groups. In any calculations that follow from the results, the answers will be based on similar numbers of forty.
6 Protection of Human Research Participants
What steps were taken to protect human research subjects?
To protect the subjects, the research utilized the competence and skills of the nurses, so that they could offer adequate safety standards. Additionally, the subjects chosen had to be free from any infections of the blood stream, to avoid aggravating their situation.
7 Research Design
What was the design of the study? If the design was modeled from previous research or pilot studies, please describe.
The study was a quasi-experimental design where all patients’ admission in the intensive care units was necessary for research.
