There are 4 goals that are covered by HP2020. To attain a high quality life, achieve healthy equity, create social and physical environments that promote good health for all promote the development of the quality of life. SCD is one of the diseases that should be covered by HP2020. The goals for HP2020 for SCD are outlined below.
1 To increase the life expectancy of people suffering from SCD by 20% across the US.
2 Improve access of SCD diagnosis and form a strong healthcare system for SCD patients
3 Form a SCD health workforce that will be tasked with coming up with appropriate strategies to make sure the goals of SCD have been achieved.
4 Increase transplants by 10%. Such transplants include hematopoietic stem cells and the renal transplants.
The above are adequate and they are in line with HP2020. If the goals are adopted, then the transmission and treatment of SCD will be achieved and the number of people affected by SCD in the world would decrease.
