The theory of human caring was developed between the year 1975 and 1979 by Jean Watson. The theory was founded on the basis that caring is one of the major responsibilities of a nurse. Besides caring being an emotionally driven action, it was also studied as a philosophy and science (Watson, 1979). Generally, it’s the mandate of a nurse to ensure the well-being of a patient and ensure that diseases do not recur in the future.

Watson’s theory was put into practice in Turkey, where a lot of women were going through the distress of infertility. Nursing care was offered during the twelve days of waiting for pregnancy test results. The theory was found to be very instrumental in reducing the anxiety levels and developing of good social relationship between the nurses and the patients. The other women were found to be infertile, and Assisted Reproductive Technology treatments failed. She was also put into nursing care.
