Health Care Canada Name: Institution: There have been studies that have revealed that the majority of the people that are insured are generally healthier while the same studies also show that the majority of the patients that are not covered or those that have their health care insurance interrupted turn out to be less healthy. To prevent this kind of predicaments, Canada insures all its citizens. This includes all the citizens without prejudice, from the minute they are conceived in their mother’s womb to the time they finally die as senior citizens. This strategy ensures that all the citizens are accorded the right to access the health care services offered by the government (Feeny, Kaplan & Mcfarland, 2009). There is also the assurance to the citizens that their health care is not going to be interrupted at any one time in their lives. America on the other hand does not provide health care to all its citizens and most of those that have the care, are at one time or the other interrupted. The system in America is quite complicated, with the government offering part of the health care insurance cover and the private sector offering the other from the other end. As a result, majority of the Americans are left without cover or without adequate cover for those that can not afford to pay for it. This jeopardizes the ease of access and the efficiency of emergency services leading to a rise in the numbers of chronic dieses that are left untreated. The USA system of health care provision is also divided along the income levels. With the majority of the top class earners having better health care provisions than their colleagues at the bottom of the class (Kirk, 2009). The Canadian health system is based on the need of the patients rather than the income. The disparity between the rich and poor in the society in Canada is much less while that in the USA is very clear. From this point of view the USA can learn from Canada the idea of quality health systems that are patients oriented rather than segregating the citizens along social classes.
