Article Synthesis: Effective Self-Care

Coursework Instructions:

The correlation between the articles should include the importance of self-care compliance, especially adherence to antiplatelet therapy after heart attack, and what effect of individualized nurse-led education using the teach-back method could have on it.

Needed is a synthesis of the four articles provided. PLEASE DO NOT SYNTHESIZE EACH ARTICLE INDIVIDUALLY, PLEASE INCLUDE AN ANALYSIS OF THE AGGREGATE OF THE 4 ARTICLES; e.g. clustering and interrelating ideas from the studies to form an overall representation of the conceptual definitions, descriptions, interventions, instruments, and strengths and weaknesses of the body of knowledge represented by the articles.  ***This is a discussion, not a paper! Make it brief but clear and include ALL elements mentioned above in addition to the questions below.

Use the following questions to synthesize the four articles:

1. What are the conclusions drawn from the articles in relation to your topic?

2.  Identify similarities and differences of the studies. These may include a discussion of the        samples, research designs, and findings, for example.

Article Synthesis Name Institutional Affiliation Article Synthesis Over the past decade, heart failure has been very rampant in different parts of the world. This can be attributed to several factors. After one has experienced heart failure, there is a need to manage it so that it does not get worse and to also ensure that the patient has a speedy recovery. Due to the prevalence of heart failure, a lot of research is being done to find out how effective self-care is among other hypotheses (Dinh, Bonner, & Clark, 2018). Studies have been conducted to find out how effective self-management after heart failure is. In several parts of the world, like Vietnam, nurses and other healthcare professionals are teaching the heart attack patients on how to best take care of themselves given their conditions to ensure that they can continue leading their lives normally. In the institutions where this is taking place, very high success rates have been recorded among the patients (Shim & Hwang, 2017). However, it is important to consider the psychological state of the patient before giving them the lessons. This is because research has indicated that patients who do not suffer from depression respond very well. Strict adherence to antiplatelet therapy has also proved very critical in the treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Research has shown that the heart attack patients who consistently undergo the antiplatelet therapy are able to resume their everyday functions as compared to those who do not (Luu, Dinh, Nguyen & Nguyen, 2019). However, not all patients are able to maintain consistency over time. Other studies have shown that individualized nurse-led education is also instrumental in managing most of the middle aged patients with acute coronary syndrome. This is done after the patients have been discharged from the hospitals. In fact, results from research have indicated that it is very important that the nurses initiate and maintain this individualized education, and that it should be part of basic procedure (Navidian, Yaghobinia, Ganjali & Khoshisimaee, 2015). Conclusions Drawn From the Articles of Discussion The four articles of discussion all acknowledge the fact that cases of cardiovascular conditions are on the rise, self-manage...
