1 Tells us about a healthcare program within your practice.
1 One of the healthcare programs within my practice was that related to community health and fitness. It is a program that has various stakeholders including healthcare professionals, community volunteers, and even community officials. Its primary aim is to improve the health and fitness of individuals especially during this period wherein cases of obesity are constantly rising (Pellegrini et al., 2020).
2 What are the costs and projected outcome of this program?
2 I believe that this program is very cost-efficient since it is a collaboration between our healthcare institution and the various organizations. Thus, while there is a significant amount of financial resources needed for the program, the actual costs needed is reduced because of the financial, material, and voluntary support given by other individuals and organizations. Accordingly, the projected outcomes of this program is reducing the rates of obesity during the quarantine period.
3 Who is your target population?
3 My target population are those who are living within our community of focus specially those who belong to impoverished families who have less choices when it comes to their food that they eat. Studies show that one of the most accessible food for families who belong in the lower income population are fast-food, which decreases the amount of nutrition that they get (Fulkerson, 2018).
4 What is the role of the nurse in providing input for the design of this healthcare program? Provide examples?
4 The role of the nurse in this program is to ensure that the techniques and methods used for intervention and evaluation are based on recent and credible studies. I believe that a nurses’ capability to conduct Evidence-based Practice (EBP) is very helpful for this program.
