The topic of my discussion/presentation is “To What Extent Do National Policies Interfere With Women Rights.” I strongly believe that women should be given as many rights and opportunities as men receive. National policies interfere with their rights, which is not a good thing. The government must take measures in this regard and has to provide women with all the comforts, facilities, luxuries and opportunities they need to succeed in their professional and personal lives.
It is a common observation that women are abused or given tough times both by their family members and office companions. At homes, they are physically abused and tortured, and at offices, they are sexually assaulted and insulted. The problem is that there is no system of giving women their rights. In both developed and underdeveloped countries, for example, they are kept from getting jobs of their desire. Whenever a new position is opened at a good company, the hiring manager prefers a male candidate over a female candidate. This means they do not bother to look at the credentials or experience certificates of candidates and instead hire male workers thinking that female workers cannot work as effectively as they need to be.
The situation gets worsened when they are kept from availing medical facilities. In most hospitals of underdeveloped countries like India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, female patients hesitate to get admission which is because they are stared at and mistreated by male doctors and nurses. A lot of such cases come to our notice on a daily basis, and as a result, female patients either go to the private clinics of female doctors to get themselves checked or they keep suffering from medical conditions throughout their lives. An example of this can be taken from the fact that most of the pregnancy and delivery cases are handled at home, which is because pregnant women are not brought to hospitals or maternity centers and are instead asked to get their babies delivered at home.
