Question #1:
Women and children are mainly victims of domestic violence. While the rate of street violence is relative decline because of better policing, domestic violence has lingered on, and it is largely underreported. For perspective, approximately 3000 people died on 9/11, the same year, 2,387 people were killed by family members or their boyfriends/girlfriendsCITATION Ola10 \p 33 \l 1033 (Barnett, Miller-Perrin, & Perrin, 2010, p. 33). While 9/11 happened once, family violence has persisted. Thus, more women and children continue to be abused in their homes. Secondly, for any street violence, it is reported and investigated. In some cases, the perpetrators are arrested and taken away from the streets. In the case of domestic violence, especially when it is unreported, the perpetrators continue abusing their victims. Thus, the victims continue suffering as they can hardly avoid their abusers. Thirdly, street violence may not happen daily or may not happen at all, especially in the more secure neighborhoods. Therefore, for any domestic violence victim, the victims are always far safer on the streets than in their households.

People abused as children are easily angered; some believe that violence is a reasonable way to resolve conflict. Some inflict pain on their victims to take revenge for how they were abused as children on their spouses and or children.
Societal dogma. In most patriarchal societies, men are superior to women and seek to dominate them through violence. The traditional belief that women are inferior t...
