1] Expatriates
An expatriate is a foreign worker in another country, who has no citizenship but is allowed to work there, and at times sponsored by a company or organization from their home country. While managing other people as an expatriate I would like to understand how the people communicate, relate and understand contacts. It is possible to learn through observation, but also looking at the labor laws, political, and legal structure of the foreign country, as this informs decisions on business practices. Where possible, asking local advice and intermediaries may be necessary to minimize misunderstandings. An American is an expatriate when they are working abroad and not in the home country, but Americans may give up their U.S. citizenship.
2] Business and cultural differences

Hindus make up the majority of the over 1 billion people in the country while Muslims are more than 100 million. The cow is revered among Hindus, and eating beef is more of a taboo, and Muslims slaughter and eat beef, but then the process must adhere to religious rituals. McDonald's entry into India resulted in the company coming up with new menus and avoiding hamburgers with beef to respect the culture of the Hindu majority (Kazmin, 2015)
3] Describe how politics impact management across cultures. Politics and power are intertwined as they relate to influencing other people, and politics then influences the management style. Leaders and managers have different perspectives about the power of authority based on their backgrounds and culture. Politics also influences the relationship between employees with their fellow employees and the employers. People may accept the authority or fail to recognize this in the workplace affecting how employers relate with employees in the workplace.
4] Ethical and legal issues associated with the BP Oil Spill
The BP oil spill is associated with Deepwater Horizon activities in the Gulf Coast, and for the company there are ethical concerns that officials did not respond in time. BP oil sought to deflect responsibility for the spill and took long to report about the estimated oil spill. Even as the media was not able to access the area, there were mounting lawsuits arising from environmental degradation including the fishing areas, with BP Oil slow in acknowledging their mistakes. The cultural implications relate to standards to be followed and the extent to which governments should enforce them for both local and foreign multinational companies.
