1 Over the years, Hollywood has drawn investors from Wall Street, Japan and Germany who were called dumb money. What is dumb money? Why were these investors dumb money?
1 Dumb money is the term used to describe investments that do not have the same compiled and organized data as compared to traditional investment mechanisms. Accordingly, the main reason why Hollywood investors are called ‘dumb money’ is because the lack of organized data forces them to invest through instinct rather than through careful data analysis.

2 As compared to the US, Chinese films are backed by the government as one of its main investors. Additionally, Chinese filmmakers have tried to learn every ‘building block’ or element of the US filmmaking industry, which leverages the latter’s “hundred-year advantage”.
