Brad is an air traffic controller who has had significant problems with high blood pressure. He has changed his diet and takes medication, but the problem persists. His wife thinks he should find other employment because his job is very stressful and contributes to his high blood pressure. She believes that if he continues at the job, he could have a heart attack. Brad is an avid runner and healthy otherwise. Brad has no training for any other job. Based on this scenario, you are Brad’s boss.
Determine what the company’s options are and whether Brad qualifies for workers’ compensation due to his health issues. Be sure to explain when you are eligible for workers’ compensation and what the law is. Analyze the key legal and ethical issues faced by the employer throughout the process.

In this scenario, Brad has the choice of fighting for his right to compensation or quitting the job and search for a lighter occupation. However, he can only do that after recovering from his high blood pleasure (Jennings, 2018). On the other hand, he can be lucky and earn compensation benefits. However, he should try to engage in training in different courses, which are lighter and less stressful as he receives compensation. Worker’s compensation is extended to cover injuries that develop over time while working for a particular company. For instance, people who work in a large load-lifting company might develop back pains. Such kind of workers is eligible for compensation since they acquired the problems while working for the company (Jennings, 2018). The standards of a worker's compensation system are that the injury origin must be from the workplace, caused by the factors of the company, or developed over time in the organization. If Brad's problem of high blood pressure was originally from the air traffic company, he could have significant chances of winning the compensation case if he took it to court.
However, in this scenario, Brad could win the compensation case if he takes it to court and if his doctor claim that the development of his blood pressure was a result of job-related stress (Jennings, 2018). On the other hand, the case could put Brad into problems while fighting for his compensation in court since his employer could claim that the high blood pressure was caused by stress, which was outside the company.
