Constructing a High-Level Business Systems Integration Plan

Coursework Instructions:

BestGear recently acquired the smaller company X-Tek, which competes in the same athletic gear market. As part of its post-acquisition integration strategy, it has decided to move the critical data from BestGear and X-Tek onsite servers to a cloud-based service. The company believes this move will result in economies of scale. As a much bigger company, BestGear can likely negotiate a better deal with a cloud service provider. The number of staff that need training for managing the data will be smaller now once all the data is housed in the same place. The company hopes it can be accessed and managed in the same way.
The company has contracted you, an IT systems integrator, to find a cheaper and more efficient data management provider to meet their goals. In your proposal, you will need to address any risks to the approach you recommend (such as startup costs, technical difficulties, risk of downtime mismanagement, costs of personnel retraining/change management, etc.).
