a) Assess what you believe to be the most important aspects of the internal environment at General Mills. Do not try to analyze every aspect of the internal organization -- rather, identify a minimum of two internal strengths and/or weaknesses. b) Complete your SWOT by integrating the external environmental analysis you completed in Week 1 with your Week 2 internal analysis. Use your SWOT to conclude whether the organization’s overall outlook is more – or less – favorable.
It is very important for a company to assess its strengths so that it can use them to neutralize (or better yet, to eliminate) environmental threats and take advantage of opportunities. The organization must recognize (and it must work to shore up) its weaknesses so that opportunities are not missed, and such that threats are much less likely to put the company at risk.

* Aspects of the Internal Environment at General Mills
The most essential attributes of the internal environment at this company remains in its commitment to innovative process, a commitment to its global responsibility, and its efforts in developing a stronger supplier base. In this case, it is vital to establish that some of General Mills strengths primarily rely on its developed brands; however, the company is directing its efforts towards innovation, and the connection of its employees with different customers, suppliers, innovators, academics, and consumers through the process of innovation (General Mills, Inc. 2016). Innovation can therefore be depicted in the organizations new products that include Free Granola Mix, and its efforts towards developing an environment that is sustainable through partnerships with local social entities such as Dora the Explorer.
* Integration of the External Environmental Analysis
The industry under which General Mills operates is considered as competitive, an aspect that is placated under the current global expansions, thus depicting the need to compete effectively in the market with its competitors who are global icons such as Kelloggs and Nestle (General Mills, Inc. 2016). All of these firms offer attractive products, an aspect that has forced General Mills to direct its focus in the development of new products that include energy bars which have received huge market recognition. In this case, General Mills would use this opportunity to meet its consumer needs effectively.
