I chose McKesson Corporation, a leader in distribution and technology solutions to the health care industry. They provide a range of medical-surgical supplies to doctors’ offices and surgery centers and solutions to help people get the medicine they need.
According to the company stock plan, McKesson may issue restricted stock, stock options and other share-based awards to employees, officers and non-employee directors as share-based compensation.
The current value of the share-based compensation expense, net of tax is $126 million as of year ended March 31, 2022. (McKesson, 2022)
To make the most of your stock during retirement, above the dividend income, it’s important to know your short-term financial needs as well as your long-term financial needs. Decide how much money you need for the next 3 years to cover your basic needs. After utilizing Social Security, savings and pension if additional funds are required, you may need to sell some of your stock, but only sell what is needed.
