Online Activity Assignment #4. Management Case Study
This is a general scenario that I want you to approach as an HR consultant or as a manager of this employee working with HR to find a good solution to the employee's performance problem. The scenario is left pretty wide open for you to be able to apply much of the training or separation lecture content, but do be sure to pay attention to the details provided so that you can provide a specific solution based on this particular employee's situation. That is, please don't just repeat verbatim the lecture note slides material but rather apply them appropriately to this specific employee scenario and what seems like the best idea for dealing with him.
Please write approximately one double-spaced page in Word (Times New Roman, Font size 12) with your answer(s). It's ok for your answers to be up to two pages double-spaced.
The Scenario:
Imagine you are an HR consultant or daily supervisor of Kevin, the accountant at Dunder-Mifflin on The Office TV show. Kevin has a history of making accounting errors. In the past, you have had Kevin complete certification and refresher training courses to address his accounting mistakes. Typically, he passes the accounting skill tests at the end of these training sessions that assess that he has learned the material, but he never seems to carry all of those skills back to his job (i.e., there is minimal transfer of training). Recently, Kevin made another large accounting error that ended up in an inaccurate report being sent to the corporate office. At this point, you are considering potential training solutions/gauging whether it is time to assess if firing him would be appropriate. Pick what solution or advice you would have for addressing Kevin's recent performance problem.

His roles were well defined; he passed the interview and has delivered great in several aspects. Accounting errors do occur, but must not be frequent. For his case, I will follow the guidelines of hiring and firing incompetent employees and advise the HR to offer Kevin the last chance. Before that, he must meet some conditions like a new thorough training to recap on his skills transfer from theoretical to pra...
