Amy's Ice Cream is an ice cream shop established in Austin, Texas. Service is the most significant difference between Amy and other ice cream shops. The service concept is that staff should enjoy what they do; service and ice cream should make customers smile. Amy fully respects employees and employs different personalities in different business districts. Individual managers have high autonomy in their areas of expertise. For Amy employees, their work is comfortable and fun.
The service organization culture at Amy’s Ice Cream
Amy Miller's service philosophy has never changed. "Staff should enjoy what they do; service and ice cream should make customers smile." This unique service concept has always been the most significant difference between Amy ice cream and other ice creams. For employees, the biggest motivation for working in an ice cream shop is not money, but a pleasant work experience. Employees can decorate the storefront themselves and choose styles to make employees feel more satisfied and engaged. Such employees can infect every customer and make people happy.
The personality attributes of the employees sought by Amy’s Ice Cream
Amy needs enthusiastic and optimistic employees. If you want the ice cream to make people smile, you must first have a smile. In Amy's ice cream shop, different regions have different styles, which requires employees to be creative to change the form of the store and a keen sense of smell to perceive what kind is needed. When communicating with customers, employees must know customers mood and determine what type of communication is acceptable to customers. This requires employees to have sufficient emotional intelligence.

Description
The VMPS is a management approach which seeks to achieve continuous achievement on how work is done to ensure zero defects in the final item. The method enables Virginia Mason to identify and eliminate inefficiency and waste in its operations. Virginia Mason invented the method in 2002 after embarking on an ambitious and system-wide program with the aim of changing how it delivered health care and also improve quality and patient safety (Bohmer 2010). This was achieved by combining the Toyota Production System (TPS) and elements of Kaizen and Lean philosophies, thus creating the VMPS. There are medical centers which have started projects that use TPS. However, Virginia Mason was the first to integrate the TPS in its entire system. The method has been effective for Virginia Mason. The healthcare center offers training and education on the integration and use of the VMPS management method in health care and other industries.
The VMPS method has resulted in three major benefits for Virginia Mason. It has helped in improving the quality of healthcare outcomes and patient safety. It has reduced the burden of work for the team members. This is because it involves automation of some operations and division of labor. In the process, it improves the overall efficiency of team members and reducing cases of fatigue. Further, it has helped in reducing the cost of providing health care. This is because the method involves improving quality and efficiency of health care services and reduces operational costs at the same time (Bohmer 2010). The system is made of several components that enable Virginia Mason to achieve these functions.
