#The Mayor of a large city was given a free membership in an exclusive golf club by people who have received several city contracts. He also accepted gifts from organizations that have not done business with the City, but might in the future. The gifts ranged from $200 tickets to professional sports events to designer watches and jewelry.
Identify the consequences of the actions taken
Determine whether the actions taken represented a greater good, who would benefit from the good, and whether the consequences ethically justify the decisions and actions.

The Mayor accepted things that would only benefit him, and he chose these over other things or agreements that could benefit his whole city. Instead, he let himself get taken over by selfishness and chose to honor the contracts from people who have given him a personal favor. If john Locke were to give his opinion in this matter, he might consider the mayor’s action as a beneficial decision, if seen through the perspective of Utilitarianism (Tuckness, 2016). He might say that accepting the offers are a way for the Mayor to access his right to property, it just so happen that he is lucky and knows the right people.
The Mayor, by accepting membership to the golf club, is just enjoying a gift that was freely given to him. The people who granted him the membership are business people who have been granted several city contracts, which means that they are capable of affording the mayor his membership to the golf club, but it may not necessarily mean that the mayor is a corrupt public official who systematically steals from the funds that are to be used for the City’s manag
