Certain events are likely to make college students leave their school before completing their courses. The causes for this are either due to the academic programs, poor study habits, temptations in the college environment or personal reasons.
Financial issues: the cost of college fees and upkeep has been on the increase. Some students, who fail to raise this money and cannot get student loans for whatever reason, end up dropping out college in an attempt to seek for employment or cheaper alternatives (eLearners.com, 2010).
Issues in the family: certain occurrences in the family can lead to students putting college studies to a halt. These could be loosing of jobs by parents, death of one of the family members or a one family member falling ill.
Drug addiction: some students who go to college end up experimenting on different life practices, drugs being one of them. Addiction will therefore lead to poor grades in class and sometimes lack of money to continue buying these drugs. As a result, such students either leave school voluntarily or are expelled.
Broken relationships: many students find lovers in college, but such relationships are usually difficult to maintain in college, which may lead to breakups. Such painful memories for students will cause them to leave that college (eLearners.com, 2010).
Homesickness: given that students meet strange individuals at college, they end up missing the comforts of their homes. This includes missing food, family care and friends, and students who find it...
