The main factors to consider before deciding whether to buy a laptop or a tablet.
A laptop and a tablet serve very different functions, and it is important to understand your intended use before settling on the product that will serve your interest best. Assuming that your budget can allow you to acquire either of the products, you must evaluate your intended use to ascertain how each of the product fit in. For example, if you need to do a lot of typing, it is advisable to take a laptop because it is easier to type on it that a tablet. A laptop has a physical keyboard that is ergonomically easier to type. Laptops are also packed with higher processing power hence they can support a wider range of application than a tablet. Therefore, a tablet can be limiting if you intend to have a product that can support heavy software like professional video editing. Additionally, the hardware composition of a tablet cannot be upgraded whilst laptops allow upgrades albeit limitedly compared to desktops. The storage capacity of tablets is less than that supported of laptops, and it is a better idea to consider purchasing a laptop rather than a tablet if storage is important. On the other hand, portability and battery life are also important factors to consider. Regarding battery life and portability, tablets are more portable and have longer battery life and therefore if these are important considerations for you in either of the products, then, a tablet is the better choice.
