Although many vaginal discharge cases are not as a result of sexually transmitted diseases and do not require any formal treatment, the common treated sexually transmitted diseases also present this symptom. The patient presented a vaginal discharge for two days, therefore, there is a possibility for the patient to have contracted a STI or a non-STI.
Symptoms presented by the Patient
* Abnormal vaginal discharge.
* Burning sensation during urination or sex.
* Itching
Based on the above symptoms, there is a possibility of the patient having a sexually transmitted infection or a non-sexually transmitted infection. The symptoms and signs are present in both infections (Kasdin, 2015).
After carrying out a physical examination of the patient, it was clear that the vaginal discharge was greenish in color.
