ISSA Personal Training Case Study 2 Assignment Paper (Case Study Sample)

Case Study 2
Calculations: Calculate the client's target heart rate using the Karvonen formula.
Training Program: Design a full 12-week periodized training program for the client described in the Client Profile. Be very specific as you design the training program. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your full comprehension of the information and concepts discussed throughout the course. List the types of exercise, duration, sets, reps, rest intervals, and so on.
Include the following in your case study submission:
A description of your professional responsibilities as discussed in the stages of the drawing-in process (Unit 12)
Discussion of any fitness tests, methods of evaluation, and data collection used to assess and evaluate the client's needs
Specific conditions that you have identified in the client profile
A fully detailed 12-week comprehensive and periodized training program including specific exercises, sets, repetitions, suggested rest times, etc. Use an integrated approach in your program recommendations.
Specific and detailed nutritional strategies and an explanation as to how the strategies will assist the client in meeting energy needs
Explanation for your chosen assessment, programming, and nutritional recommendations. (Be sure to reference course concepts when discussing rationale for your recommendations.
Keep in mind that a client should be able to take your program and put it into practice without having to contact you to clarify what you intended by your recommendations or to explain parts of your program.
Don't forget your explanation for WHY you listed and recommended what you did. Reference the concepts and theories covered in the course. Be sure to address why the program and exercises recommended are appropriate for the specific client given the client's history, current abilities, and intended goal(s). For example: if you are developing a program for a beginner client without any resistance training experience, explain how your program addresses the lack of experience, initial need for foundational development, process by which you would safely progress the client, etc. Tying your program to course concepts is a critical component of your case study.
Review the Client Profile below.

Professional Responsibilities
As a fitness trainer and an aerobics instructor, I have the following professional obligations to my clients.
1 A responsibility to design appropriate routines that matches with the clients' goals such as coming up with movements suitable for each set of muscles.
2 A duty to provide clients with relevant and necessary information regarding the mode of nutrition, lifestyle issues and weight control
3 A duty to monitor clients' progress and adapt programs as recommended
4 A duty to formulate, explain and implement safety measures, governing policies on sports and explain the appropriate use of exercise equipment.
5 A duty to supervise or follow up on how clients take into the routine to help them meet their desired goals.
Fitness Tests
In reference to the clients' profile, I will employ Daily Readiness Observation (DR.O) as the assessment approach. This method allows a trainer to be examined at four important aspects namely, lifestyle, physical, movement agility and mental/emotional state before beginning on a program or on a daily basis to establish whether the clients' agility, endurance, and readiness on the set program. Particularly, the four distinct aspects include:
1 Under lifestyle, the trainer focuses on determining the client's nutrition, sleeping level and their daily activities.
2 Under physical assessment, a client will be tested on her aerobic and anaerobic endurance limits by taking her through Copper Run and Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test and respectively. In addition, her local muscular endurance limits are tested through press-up and sit-up tests. The bottom of physical assessment is to measure a client's pain, tightness and soreness level.
3 Under movement ability, the client will be tested on flexibility through simple movement observation on tests such as Sit & Reach Test and Calf Flexibility Test which assesses the flexibility of hamstrings and other joints of the body.
4 Lastly, the client is tested on her mental and emotional state of mind.
From the data gathered from all these parameters, it becomes simpler to develop a program that will fit the client's behavior patterns and personality. Also, the data allows easy adjustment to the program. In addition, DR.O approach allows tracking of clients training sessions to monitor the progress.
Identified Specific Condition
Client's Target Heart Rate = (Maximum HR − Resting HR) × %Intensity) + Resting HR. (Bompa, Tudor, Buzzichelli, & Carlo, 2015)
Max HR = 220 – 37 years = 183 bpm
(Minimum) 183- 75(Resting HR) * 0.60 + 75 (Resting HR) = 139.8 bpm
Maximum Target 183- 75 (Resting HR) * 0.70 + 75 (Resting HR) = 150. 6 bpm
