The question on whether to decision to steal the medication ethically correct, highlights the moral dilemma one would face trying to save life by being dishonesty and stealing the expensive medications (Alexander & Bowman, 2005). In the dilemma the pharmacist or physician only considers his interests and ignores that of others. Stealing is a crime, while if the wife died, he would be left alone and yet there is more respect for people over property. Ideally, people ought to consider the interests of where each person be treated similar to others as there is respect for dignity of the patients (Arao et al., 2017). Some of the most difficult situations are the ones in which decision may result in positive and negative consequences. There is a less effective, but more affordable option this would be considered, but the goal is recommending and providing the best care.
The life of a human being is valuable, and efforts to save their lives are important, but stealing the medicine would mean that it is okay to act wrong if the expected outcome is positive. As such, one should not steal the medicine, but rather find other ways to ensure the patient gets the medication. One of the ways to address this is through borrowing when the individual then takes responsibility for their actions and decisions. He had already asked money from the close family members and friends to help pay for the medicine, but his was not enough, and he may promise to pay more in return if possible. Another way is to make arrangements and promise to pay later including noting this down in writing, but the success of this also depends on whether the pharmacist agrees to the plan.
